Compass Mediterranean Bar Restaurant is located in Tourlos a short walk down the road from the Mykonos New Port.

People passing through the Tourlos area near the Mykonos New Port will notice the new Mediterranean bar and restaurant, Compass, this summer. It had been expected to open by the end of April, but delays forced owners G. Levantinos and P. Sergetzis to push the official launch to July 2.

Compass is located in the premises that were occupied last year by Cayenne, which I profiled in my What’s new on Mykonos for 2015 blog post. According to the restaurant website, Compass is a “place where you can enjoy your coffee, a great lunch, an evening cocktail or an excellent dinner. ” The menu is intended to reflect Greece “in its most creative form,” with dishes highlighting “fresh, traditional and local products and varieties from all over Greece such as: olive oil, grains, cheese, honey, herbs, meats and seafood, created gustatory senses that takes you away on a wonderful culinary adventure.  Completing this experience with an exceptional wine cellar from Greek wineries and bio labels, Compass aims to elevate your senses through simplicity.”

The menu includes salads, hot and cold appetizers, meat dishes, burgers, pizza, pasta, seafood and desserts. It also includes gluten-free and lactose-free items. Compass boasts a large open-air terrace that has unobstructed views of the sea, sunset, nearby islands and the New Port and marina areas. Compass will be open from 9 a.m. to 2.30 a.m. daily, serving brunch, lunch, dinner and drinks.
